Stress Awareness Month; how to regain balance

1st April marks the start of Stress Awareness Month to raise awareness of the causes and cures for identifying, managing and living with stress.

The past year has undoubtedly placed a lot of extra stress and pressure on people so we are encouraging all to take part in The 30 Day Challenge to nurture positivity, encourage kindness and regain balance.

With our hotel and spa reopening from 17th May, we are encouraging people to use this month to plan ahead with a focus on reducing stress and encouraging wellness throughout 2021.

Quality Time We appreciate that the last year has been difficult due to a reduction of social time with family and friends, however as we head into the Summer and the easing of restrictions it’s important to have things planned to look forward to. A nourishing spa day, a countryside weekend or an exquisite afternoon tea on the lawn; having something planned gives focus to a positive and exciting year ahead. For more information take a look at our getaways & breaks here.

Calming Aromas Your home should be a place for relaxation and tranquillity, away from the stresses of work. Light a candle, open the oil diffusers and play some soothing music. Take a look at GAIA Skincare’s range of candles, diffusers, sleep aids and calming bath oils; all to help create balance within your home here.

Nutrition An important part of regaining balance and feeling energized comes from the foods we eat. Here at Boringdon Hall, Àclèaf has been entered into the Michelin guide 2021. With a philosophy of "truth with elegance" our 3 AA Rosette restaurant uses only the finest locally sourced ingredients along with herbs from our very own garden. Exercise With the reopening of gyms on the horizon, getting back into a routine of fitness as part of your weekly activities will be a much-welcomed return for many. If this isn’t something that you have previously embraced, why not try adding this into your weekly routine? Exercise triggers the production of endorphins in your brain which pump through your body giving you that happy feeling. Exercise also lowers your body’s stress hormones such as cortisol, and instead releases chemicals that make you feel more positive and calm. Exercise and fitness comes in a whole range of activities from gyms, swimming, yoga and beyond. We’re home to Gaia Boringdon’s award-winning spa and gym where guests can nurture their wellness through fitness classes, nourishing therapies and relaxing facilities, all reopening from 17th May. Take a look here.
