We've picked our favourite things to do in Devon so you can start planning your trip straight away.

Situated on the edge of the idyllic Dartmoor National Park and just 10 minutes from the vibrant marine city of Plymouth, Boringdon Hall Hotel is perfectly positioned for business or pleasure. Below are some of our recommendations.

  • Dartmoor National Park

Encompassing nearly 400sq miles of rugged, breathtaking moorland, Dartmoor never feels crowded. Purple, heather clad moorland, wide open landscapes, rushing rivers and obscure stone tors shape the landscape. Pack your walking boots to explore rolling valleys, bogs and wetland, waterfalls, eerie forests and lonely ruins by foot. Cycling, fishing, horse-riding and white water kayaking are also available.

Location: 4.4 miles from Boringdon Hall and 15 minutes by car.

Passionate about walking? Join one of the many walks led by Moorland Guides.

  • Shopping

Tavistock to the north of Plympton is a charming town with a good range of boutiques and high street shops as well as a pannier market. The South Hams is also particularly gifted with its pretty villages and wide estuaries – Dartmouth and Salcombe being the most famous. Kingsbridge, to the south of Boringdon Hall, has a lovely cobbled fore street, lots of independent boutiques and a friendly, relaxed vibe. Drake Circus boasts over 70 top named UK brands in retail and food, perfect for a day out with friends or family.

Location: Various, all within 60 minutes’ drive from Boringdon Hall.

Passionate about shopping? Head down to Plymouth Barbican for gorgeous shops and local seafood.

  • Boringdon Park Golf Club

With 18 holes of stunning golf, sculpted to embrace the natural contours of the land, golfers love the challenge this course poses. Boringdon Park Golf Club has been constructed to a high standard, and the greens have been built to USGA specification.
