We’re hugely proud that last weekend the Sunday Times featured us in their 100 Great British Hotels for the second year running.
The Sunday Times Top 100 Hotels, now in its fifth edition, researches and stays in hundreds of hotels each year to keep their guide up to date. The list covers all the hotel bases including family-friendly, romantic, budget, spa and more, with the overall focus on the things that matter: “places where the essentials of comfort, service and value go along with personality and warmth”.
Things rarely stand still in the hotel world and since our last appearance in this prestigious list we have stepped up from four-star to five-star, Head Chef Scott Paton and his brigade have been awarded 3 AA Rosettes and during the summer we appointed a new Spa Director, Shelley Hepburn, who during her 20-year career has opened and developed some of the UK’s leading luxury hotel spas – including The Grove, Pennyhill Park and most recently The Ned at Soho House, London.
The Sunday Times writes:
“The spa’s new director is the imaginative Shelley Hepburn, fresh from launching the spa at the Ned: she has plans for moonlit walks on Dartmoor and out-there sessions involving local healers and nearby ley lines.”
We are delighted to have been recognised for a number of national and international awards so far this year including the Condé Nast Johansens Awards for Excellence, the World Spa and Wellness Awards and recently we were a finalist in the AA Hospitality Customer Choice Awards alongside The Savoy, Claridge’s, The Langham and Ribby Hall.
These awards and accolades are a true testament to the hard work and passion of our team who put their all into giving our guests an exceptional experience, 365 days of the year.
