Plymouth History Festival | Saturday 5th May – Sunday 3rd June
Plymouth History Festival is an annual celebration of Plymouth’s history and heritage and takes place across the city in a range of venues and locations. The 2018 festival runs from 5 May to 3 June and there are 100+ events on this year’s programme including a stand up paddle-boarding history tour. Find out more here.
Boringdon Gin Festival | Sunday 27th May
An in-house event, the annual Gin Festival. Join us on the front lawn and enjoy the finest Gin accompanied by food stands, live music and outdoor activities and games. Tickets are £10, book here.
Royal William Yard Good Food Market | First Sunday of every month
Experience fresh produce from over 30 stall traders at Royal William Yard’s monthly market, showcasing some of the best local food and drink in the South West. Running on the 1st Sunday of every month in Factory Cooperage. Free to attend. More details here.
Ocean City Sounds | Thursday 26th July & Friday 27th July
MTV Presents: Ocean City Sounds is the new-look live music event happening on Plymouth Hoe this July. There will be two days of music from Bastille, Ella Eyre, Professor Green and Pete Tong and the Heritage Orchestra, conducted by Jules Buckley. Tickets are available here.
Port Eliot Festival | 26th – 29th July
Port Eliot is a festival unlike any other. A magical weekend, whether you’re swimming in the estuary, picnicking under a 300-year-old tree, rocking out at the Park Stage, canoeing on the river, catching an intimate gig in the church, watching a cooking demo in the Big Kitchen or dancing until the small hours in the Boogie Round – their home is yours for the weekend. Macbeth at Royal William Yard | 31st July – 11th August
Watch an open air production of Macbeth at the extraordinary Royal William Yard site, adjacent to Plymouth’s historic waterfront. This follows the Barbican Theatre’s hugely successful previous summer productions A Midsummer Night’s Dream (2015), Romeo & Juliet (2016) and Twelfth Night (2017). Tickets are available here.
Evita at the Theatre Royal | 14th – 18th August
Following its smash-hit runs in London, Bill Kenwright’s production of Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Evita is thrilling audiences once again across the UK. Plymouth Art Weekender is a three-day event that takes place annually across Plymouth. The fourth Weekender will be held on 28th – 30th September. The Weekender showcases a wide and diverse range of activity for all ages including a large array of events and exhibitions throughout the city by local, national, and international artists.
