Was it Colonel Mustard in the Gazebo with the Candlestick? Was it Ms. Scarlet in the Library with the Revolver? Deliciously naughty, murder mystery nights at Boringdon Hall offer a wicked evening of murder and misbehaving.
Curious about murder mystery events...
The rules for the evening are simple: You will be involved in a Murder Mystery from the very start, you will be given clues and information about special traits of the guests amongst you.
The fun will begin at 7:00pm as you gather at Boringdon Hall to meet the characters. As the evening progresses at least one horrific homicide will occur…it’s your role to determine who should have murder on their conscience.
Murder mysteries will usually feature a handful of characters. Each will have had some form of relationship with the victim, and have a plausible motive for the murder – a vendetta. They will perform scenes and will gossip with you as you enjoy a succulent three-course dinner; but don’t take your eye off the ball – you will need to use this opportunity to interrogate the potential suspects and solve the crime.
Unlike a play, the evening is not fully scripted. There are principal scenes that set the basic plot, but the rest is up to you, super sleuth. The actors are quick on their feet and may introduce some naughty twists and turns to keep you guessing. As the evening proceeds, the characters’ innermost secrets will be laid bare in the open. Only the murderer can lie, the other characters must tell the truth, so it’s up to you to decide who to trust...
How will I be involved?
The carefully-crafted combination of interactive improvisation and scripted scenes means you do as little or as much as you like. Whether you enjoy deciphering the clues or like interacting with the actors, the entertainment value alone is devilishly good.
Are groups welcome?
Certainly. Many amateur sleuths choose to hunt in packs and come along as part of a celebration – a birthday or anniversary for example – whilst others like to come alone.
Essential recommendations for Super Sleuths…
Take the opportunity to question each member of the cast on anything that may be relevant.
Ask them about themselves, or what they know about other people.
Remember: Murderers often lie...
But innocent parties can be protective of their secrets too so think carefully about your questions.
If you think you have the answer, don’t ask a question that will give it away – you don’t want to help anyone else.
Keep your wits about you.
Don’t overlook any vital evidence.
