A foodie’s dream, Flavour Fest is the South West’s largest food and drink festival. Taking place in Plymouth’s city centre from 15th - 17th August, the three-day festival is an irresistible celebration of the region’s local chef’s and producers.
Over 120 Local Food Producers
Harnessing all the freshest local flavours, the festival will play host to over 120 of the South West’s finest producers. From delectable cheeses to freshly caught fish, and scrumpalicious ciders to artisan breads, there’s guaranteed to be something that’ll take your fancy and make your mouth water.
TOP TIP: Take an empty picnic basket, visit the stalls and fill it with divine delights before heading to Plymouth Hoe - or one of these other handpicked picnic spots in Devon - to devour your luscious local treats.
Top Chef Demos in the Cookery Theatre
A thrilling collection of the region’s most talented chefs will be taking to the stage to share their insider tips of the trade. To date the packed programme of hands-on demonstrations features:
- Chris and James Tanner (Tanner’s Restaurant / Barbican Kitchen)
- Mitch Tonks (Rockfish Seafood / The Seahorse)
- Ben Squire (Boathouse Café)
- Joe Draper and Andy Richardson (River Cottage)
- As well as many, many others…
Our very own Head Chef – Katie Richardson – will be sharing some of her best-kept secrets in the Cookery Theatre on Friday 15th at 2:00pm. Famed for her larger-than-life personality and animated demos, she’s definitely one to watch. Follow Katie @BoringdonChef on Twitter to get tasty behind-the-scenes updates from the festival.
TRIED & TESTED: Don’t miss the ‘Ready, Steady Cook’ style demo on Friday 15th at 12:15pm – it was the highlight of last year’s festival.
FRESH FLAVOURS: For the first year in Flavour Fest history the team from Yo! Sushi are on the bill so we’re particularly looking forward to learning some delicious sushi secrets from the masters! Check them out Saturday 16th at 5:00pm.
Food is Fun Pavilion
This is where juniors can get their fill. Fun, interactive displays and hands-on demos will help younger guests learn about where their food comes from, and the transformation it goes through before it reaches their plates. There will be bread-making and refreshments as well as some classic favourites including face painting and crafty endeavours.
