With over 60 food, arts, and crafts stalls and a great range of Devon ales on offer, Abbfest lets you sample the extraordinary range of quality products that are made in the West Country. You can devour traditional Devon cuisine and some of the more unusual modern takes on old recipes. Stalls include handmade chocolates, jewellery and mosaics, fabrics, seafood, and fresh farm produce, while there’s plenty of entertainment that the whole family can enjoy with live music and popular bands on the Friday and Saturday evenings.
If you want to pick up a few cookery tips while you’re at Abbfest, then head over to the displays where acclaimed chefs will be cooking up a storm in a series of kitchen demonstrations; you’ll leave with lots of ideas for your own masterpieces based on traditional recipes and quality local West Country produce.
Seafood Festival, Plymouth
SATURDAY 27TH - SUNDAY 28TH SEPTEMBER, 2014
Plymouth harbour will come alive with an exciting quayside celebration of the city's fantastic locally caught seafood at this annual event. There will be a tasty selection of food stalls for you to sample and buy from, as well as a sea themed crafts and awareness area.
On Saturday 27 September the event will link with Japan 400 with some Japanese themed entertainment taking place during the afternoon. A cookery theatre will be located on The Parade area of the Barbican, with local and regional chefs demonstrating seafood dishes. On Quay Square there will be the opportunity for children to be entertained through the Puppet Theatre, face painting as well as listening to some local shanty singers.
